The Five Reiki Principles, also known as the Reiki Precepts or Reiki Ideals, promote spiritual growth, mindfulness, and inner peace. They were formulated by Mikao Usui as a framework for balanced living:
This principle encourages us to cultivate inner peace and emotional balance by refraining from anger, resentment, and hostility. Developing your intuition involves tuning into subtle cues, your sense of knowing, and the knowledge of the heart to navigate life’s challenges with clarity, compassion, and authenticity. Here’s a detailed guide on how to develop intuition to help yourself and others:
Start by cultivating self-awareness through meditation, mindfulness, and introspection. Spend time in quiet reflection, tuning into your thoughts, emotions, and bodily sensations. Find a quiet and comfortable space where you can relax and focus without distractions.
Begin with a gentle 4-7-8 breathing technique to instil a sense of connectedness between your body and mind. During this exercise, you will inhale through your nose for four seconds, hold your breath for seven seconds, and exhale through your mouth for eight seconds, emptying your lungs of air. You will repeat this cycle four times in total.
Now place the tip of your tongue on the tissue behind your top front teeth….
Inhale quietly through your nose for 4-3-2-1
Now hold your breath for 5-4-3-2-1
Exhale through your mouth, pursing your lips, for 6-5-4-3-2-1
Repeat this cycle a further three times.
Use the Kanji hand symbols one and two to activate and establish a connection with Reiki energy.
Now, envision a soft green light emanating from the centre of your chest. Visualise it growing in size and intensity with each inhale, gradually enveloping the entire area with its healing glow.
You can feel the light’s comforting warmth as it radiates throughout your body, cleansing and replenishing every cell with its healing energy, bringing a profound sense of peace and acceptance.
Feel your heart chakra expanding beyond your physical body, connecting with the universe and the world around you, becoming one with the vast, interconnected web of life.
As you bask in this tranquil glow, declare your intention to connect with your intuition and higher self. Repeat the following affirmation: “I am open to receiving guidance from my higher self and the boundless realms of intuition”.
Draw or visualise the Master symbol, Dai Ko Myo, in the air in front of you, repeating its name three times… “DAI KO MYO”, “DAI KO MYO”, “DAI KO MYO”… Feel the Reiki energy flowing through your body as you merge with the symbol.
Begin writing in response to your question without censoring or editing your thoughts. Let your pen flow freely as you allow your intuition and higher self to guide your hand. Write whatever comes to mind, whether thoughts, feelings, images, or intuitive insights.
Are you feeling resonance or clarity about certain ideas or solutions? Trust your inner wisdom, even if it doesn’t initially make logical sense.
Once you’ve finished writing, take some time to reflect on what you’ve written. Notice recurring themes, insights, or intuitive messages that stand out. Consider how you can apply this guidance to your life or decision-making process.
Repeat this exercise regularly to deepen your connection to your intuition and higher self. Over time, you’ll strengthen your intuitive abilities and cultivate a deeper sense of trust and alignment with your inner wisdom and guidance.
