The Master Reiki symbol, Dai Ko Myo, holds significant meaning and is considered one of the most potent Reiki symbols. Here’s an explanation of its meaning and the benefits associated with this symbol:

1. The meaning of Dai Ko Myo

Translated as “Great Enlightenment” or “The Buddha in me greets the Buddha in you,” this symbol represents the highest level of spiritual awakening, enlightenment, and inner transformation. It embodies the essence of divine love, compassion, and wisdom. It symbolises the inherent interconnectedness between all living things and our connection to a divine universal consciousness.

2. The Benefits of Dai Ko Myo

Spiritual Enlightenment

Dai Ko Myo is associated with spiritual enlightenment and the awakening of one’s true nature. By working with this symbol, practitioners can deepen their spiritual connection, expand their consciousness, and experience a sense of oneness with the universe.

Empowerment

Dai Ko Myo empowers Reiki practitioners to access and channel higher frequencies of healing energy. It strengthens the practitioner’s ability to serve as a divine energy conduit, facilitating more profound healing and transformation for themselves and others.

Healing on the Soul Level

This symbol is often used to facilitate healing on the soul level, addressing deep-seated emotional wounds, karmic patterns, and spiritual imbalances. It can help release past traumas, negative beliefs, and energetic blockages that may hinder spiritual growth and well-being.

Self-Realisation

Working with the Master symbol can lead to profound self-realisation and discovery. It supports individuals in uncovering their innate gifts, talents, and purpose, aligning them with their highest potential and life path.

Transformation and Growth

Dai Ko Myo embodies the journey of inner transformation and growth. It encourages practitioners to embrace their inner light, wisdom, and power and embody love, compassion, and integrity in their daily lives.

Connection to Reiki Lineage

The Master symbol connects practitioners to the lineage of Reiki masters, carrying their wisdom, energy, and blessings, and serves as a reminder of the sacred responsibility of being a Reiki master.

3. How to use the Master symbol

Activate the Symbol

To use the Reiki Master Symbol, activate it by drawing or visualising it in your mind’s eye. You can draw the symbol with your finger in the air, on your palms, or on paper. Alternatively, you can visualise the symbol in your mind’s eye, knowing that its energy is present and accessible to you.

Set Intention

Before using the Master Symbol, set a clear intention for its use. This could be to deepen your connection to Reiki energy, promote healing on a physical, emotional, mental, or spiritual level, or facilitate personal growth and transformation. Intentions can vary depending on the specific needs or goals of the recipient.

Invoke the Symbol

Once you’ve activated the symbol and set your intention, you can invoke Dai Ko Myo mentally or verbally by repeating its name three times. This helps to establish a strong connection to the symbol and the higher frequencies of Reiki energy it represents.

Apply the Symbol

There are several ways to apply the Reiki Master Symbol:

Direct Healing: Direct the energy of the symbol by placing your hands on or near the recipient’s body over the areas requiring healing. Visualise the symbol flowing through you and into the recipient, amplifying the healing energy and promoting balance and harmony.

Distance Healing: Use the Reiki Master Symbol to send healing energy to individuals, situations, or events at a distance. Visualise the symbol bridging the gap between you and your recipient, transcending space and time to deliver healing wherever needed.

Personal Growth and Transformation: Meditate with the Master Symbol to deepen your connection to Reiki energy and promote personal and spiritual growth. Visualise the symbol infusing your being with divine love, wisdom, and light, guiding you on your journey of self-discovery and empowerment.

Trust and Allow:

As you work with the Master Symbol, trust in the healing power of Reiki energy and allow it to flow freely. Know that it will always serve the recipient’s highest good and yourself. Surrender to the flow of divine energy and trust in the innate wisdom of the universe.

4. How to draw the Master symbol

Imagine energy radiating from your palm as you draw the symbol in the air with your whole hand. Practice drawing this symbol, reciting the mantra DAI KO MYO three times with each delineation.

5. Getting to know the symbol

Remember that Dai Ko Myo is a sacred tool that should be used with reverence, integrity, and respect. It represents the highest aspects of Reiki energy and carries the blessings of the Reiki lineage. As you work with the symbol, do so with an open heart, pure intention, and a deep sense of gratitude.

6. Exercise 1: Committing to memory

Before beginning exercises two and three, you must commit the Master symbol to memory. Repetition is vital in this regard, and we recommend spending a minimum of three hours drawing and redrawing the symbol on paper, preserving the correct stroke sequence each time. Once you can effortlessly manifest Dai Ko Myo in your mind’s eye, you can proceed to the remaining exercises.

I urge you not to rush this step, as your commitment and devotion to the process will affect the rewards of your practice.

Step 4

Now, draw the Master Symbol with the palm of your hand, repeating the symbol’s name and mantra three times as you draw. ‘DAI KO MYO’ ‘DAI KO MYO’ ‘DAI KO MYO’

Step 5
Visualise the Master symbol merging with your energy field, paying attention to any sensations or changes within your subtle energy system, such as goosebumps, radiating warmth, tingling, coolness, a surge of energy or other noticeable sensations.
